Enforcement Officers, as regulated by the Environmental
Protection Act Part 10 - 216.
Environment Canada measures POPs at the Alert Global
Atmospheric Watch (Alert, Nunavut).
Provincial and municipal environment, agriculture,
fisheries and health inspectors, in addition to
emergency response personnel routinely inspect PCB
equipment.

In November 2002, The Ministry of Environment held
"East Asia POPs (Persistent Organic Pollutants)
Monitoring Workshop" in aim to take leadership in
POPs monitoring in this region. Specialists or Government
officials of Japan, Indonesia, Korea, Cambodia,
Singapore, China, Philippines, Thai, Vietnam, and
Malaysia participated in this workshop. Also, NGO
(WWF) took part as an observer. |
