Malaysia No official data, but according to our national power supplier there are still1200 kg of PCBs in the form of capacitors banks are awaiting to be destroyed.
Japan YES. The law for PCB in 2001 obliges PCB owners to report the situation of storage and usage of PCB.
By the report in 2002,
*Transformers and capacitors (High voltage): 236,841
*Transformers and capacitors (Low voltage): 1,176,795
*Capacitors such as fluorescent lights: 4,170,839
*Carbonless duplicating paper: 679 tons
Korea The amount of PCB waste is confirmed:
1999 - 1ton (exported to Netherlands)
2000 - 167.4tons(exported to Netherlands)
Hong Kong According to the WDO, PCB waste producers are required to register with the EPD.
