The action by Japan Offspring Fund

The capacitors containing PCBs of florescent lights

This pictures are taken in this office.

The capacitors in our office are made in 1970. These contains PCBs. Owner of this building didn't know about the fact, before our research. The owner may be disposed it without knowing it.

We are surprised that the eqipments containing PCBs are used near at hand. We think in there will be the same case all parts of Japan. So we started to take actions for PCBs issue.

Future work

I talk about our future works

We will research the current use of capacitors containing PCBs by questionnaires to the citizen

We will attend CODEX committee on food additives and contaminants (CCFAC) (Tanzania, March). At CCFAC, will be discussed maximum limits etc. of PCBs and dioxins in food. We will make a poster to eliminate the source of PCBs after lunch. We will appeal to the government delegations and NGOs by distributing the poster.
